Development of bioenergy or biofuel as an alternative energy source is very strategic to overcome the existing problems. Government of Indonesia concrete steps in the development of materials biofuels is by the issuance of Presidential Instruction No.1 of 2006 dated January 25, 2006 concerning the Provision and Use of Biofuels (Biofuel) as an alternative fuel. In general biofuels can be categorized into four types of fuel, namely biodiesel, bioethanol, bio oil, and Pure Plant Oil (PPO).

 

 Indonesia as an agricultural country has the potential for huge raw material to produce biodiesel, bioethanol and PPO. Some types of vegetable oils such as palm oil, coconut, and jatropha and other vegetable oils can be used as a substitute for diesel fuel biodiesel feedstock. While the materials that contain carbohydrates such as sugar cane, maize, cassava, sweet potatoes and sago or materials containing sugar and other starches can be used as feedstock bioethanol. Bio oil can utilize a number of abundant biomass such as agricultural wastes in Indonesia.

 

 Biodiesel has several advantages besides its nature is like diesel fuel so it is known as a substitute for diesel oil, are also environmentally friendly and can be updated, so it is prospective to be developed. Pecan Reutealis Trisperma is one potential biodiesel feedstock, which has a number of advantages over other plant materials, which do not compete for food, high oil content, can grow on a variety of field conditions, easy maintenance, and able to land conservation.
